Marti Green | THE GOOD TWIN

Plot (via Goodreads):

Mallory Holcolm is an unfulfilled waitress and aspiring artist living in a Queens boardinghouse when she learns something astonishing about her past: she has an identical twin sister named Charly she never knew existed.

Charly is a Princeton graduate, a respected gallery owner, and an heiress married to her handsome college sweetheart, Ben. Charly got everything she ever wanted. Everything Mallory wanted, too. And now it might be easier than Mallory ever imagined. Because Ben has reasons of his own for wanting to help her.

It begins with his startling proposal. All Mallory has to do is say yes.

But as their devious plan falls into place, piece by piece, Mallory learns more about her sister and herself than she ever meant to—a discovery that comes with an unexpected twist. A chilling deception is about to become a dangerous double cross. And it’s going to change the rules of Ben and Mallory’s game to the very end.

Review:

THE GOOD TWIN was a deceitful, fun, and easy read. I enjoyed this plot so much! Green does a fantastic job of opening this novel with a bang and not letting off until the twisted finale. I really liked the pacing within the plot to this novel as there wasn't much "down time" and not one page was wasted. I was on the edge of my seat the entire time. The plot is tightly woven and twisted, 100% popcorn entertainment, and brilliantly constructed. I could not put this one down and finished it within one day.

What I loved about this novel aside from the plot was the character development that Green set up. Without spoiling anything, I cannot go into too much detail, but the way that Green sets up the character development with this novel is not only unique, but a sparkling compliment to her writing capabilities.

While this novel did have moments that seemed kind of far-fetched, it wasn't an eye roll moment. It was a "holy moly" moment that made the novel even more enjoyable. I would definitely compare this one to the films Single White Female, The Perfect Murder, with a little dash of a sprinkle of a Lifetime movie thrown in (the good Lifetime movies). This was an entertaining, fun, and breezy read perfect for a beach read or when you need some entertainment for a rainy afternoon. Be prepared, once you pick it up, it's going to be hard to put down.

Thank you so much to Amazon Publishing for providing me with this copy in exchange for my honest review.
