Review:

Caged by Ellison Cooper is one hell of a complex and fast-paced case that combines a unique and well-detailed serial killer case with some major police procedural aspects that made the perfect thriller. Reading this knowing it was the beginning of a series made me so happy because I immediately fell in love with Cooper's writing and Sayer Altair - this character is such an amazing protagonist and I honestly could read about her all of the time.

This is no cookie cutter case and it is so heavily detailed and mysterious. Once you think you know what's going on, there's more and more that just keeps you invested and curious as to what could happen next. I immediately needed to know more and was trying to wrap my head around what was going on but the minute I got a good grasp, Cooper gave me a wallop of a twist. This was such a fun reading experience and the case was not only complex but it was gritty and didn't hold back on giving the reader everything they needed to know to paint a mental image.

I found the ending to this one shocking and was one I never saw coming! If you want a cinematic and shocking crime fiction thriller that is equal parts The Silence of the Lambs and Mindhunter, this is one you need to pick up immediately!
